The incident comes after a young girl was attacked and bitten by a goanna on South Stradbroke island in Queensland last month.
It took two people to wrestle the reptile off the child who had been walking through a camp ground.
The eight-year-old suffered a deep foot wound in the incident.
Wildlife experts warned goanna bites are potentially dangerous because the carnivores feed on carrion and bacteria deposited in their mouths can cause bleeding, swelling and pain.
