Give me back my old Pakistan!

Born in the 1950s, I was amongst the first generation that was born after Partition. Back then, we led a simple life but one marked with peace and civility. Growing up in old Pakistan, I only have pleasant memories from that time. The mornings would lighten up with the voices of K L Saigal and his contemporaries from Radio Ceylon.

Wow.. I have heard nostalgic comments about Radio Ceylon from old timers in India.. They still reminiscent about it in the SLBC website.. Never knew they covered Pakistan as well.. Great institution

Sorry its difficult as during some new features and facilities in Pakistan RESTORE POINT was not created. So can't give you back old Pakistan its better to improve New Pakistan. Or insert Rescue CD and restore old files or install new Pakistan from scratch

I was born about 4 years before partition and also hanker after the Pakistan prior to 1970. Majority of the youth today were too young even during Musharraf years and were not even born to remember the Pakistan of the 50’s & the 60’s when my generation were in the prime of their life.

Cmdr. Anjum is 100% correct about Imran Khan. I can however understand the reason for the popularity of Imran among the naïve burger crowd. No matter how I dislike Imran’s inexplicable love of the Taliban; I have to grudgingly admit that Imran stands tall when compared with midgets like Nawaz Sharif & Asif Zardari. I would also agree about the rude & uncouth behaviour of his followers.

Old saying that “A Leopard can’t change its spots’ is based on thousands years’ experience of the mankind. Except for Asad Omer; I find majority of his aides such as Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Jahangir Tareen, Rustam Shah Mohmand, Pervez Khattak etc. are essentially “more of the same”. How can we expect that same old tried and tested incompetent politicians would give us “Naya Pakistan”?

Unless you have all new faces, it would be an exercise in futility. What we get would be the same old Pakistan wrapped in the ‘Naya Pakistan” package and the things could go from worse to worst.

Well The old Pakistan will not come unless the modern day demons (corruption) is destroyed unfortunately that is the reality , the law and order in Pakistan is in hands of corrupt

Hand full of people will work hard , run their companies and do the good deeds but in end the one that will benefit will always be the ones that use the corruption to be in power and take out loans and not pay back loans and taxes

Last 6-10 years have not seen a single sign of improvement

Example of Syria is before us unless law and order DRASTICALLY improve

1- Attack on cricket team
2 - Attack on airports
3 - Attack on Awacs
4- Attack on railways
5- Attack in cities against factories
6- Attack on military basis
7- Attack on children's schools (Pretty much last straw)

Lets face it "The rigged model of Democracy" has not worked.

Pakistan needs a COMPLETE RESET ......on corruption and extremism

Which can only be achieved with a Military government.
