Ghandhara Nissan Ltd (GNL) has announced that it is going to roll out three Nissan models, including a 1,200cc Datsun Cross, Datsun Go, and Datsun Go Plus, in the second half of 2020.

Not even big three.... just Honda and Toyota. Suzuki is still making a killing.

Even with Nissan coming the price of cars will be high for the foreseeable future unless we start making the parts locally and at a good standard which could at least a decade.

For the middle classes Leasing cars is going to become the norm now and car manufacturers will follow the UK model where the manufacturers as well selling cars also lease the cars

Indeed. It is not rocket science but no one has dipped their toes in this sector apart from Proficient pick-up in the late '80s. That was the only vehicle entirely made in Pakistan.

Apart from engine and transmission, rest can be easily manufactured in house. Truth be told many big giants even procure engine from other companies that have more economical manufacturing process. Renault makes engines for Nissan. Yamaha and BMW make engines for Toyota etc.

We Had And We Killed Both of Them.

BTW Suzuki Still Manufactures A Percentage Locally But The Rest Were Just CKD Assembly Operations and Practically No Value Addition.They Deserve What They're Getting..It Isn't The Governments Fault They Were Lethargic and Indulging In A Get Rich Quick Scheme
