General Raheel Shareef meets Turkish Prime Minister

Some Turks do not like Davutoglu for political/religious reasons. I can accept that. But when was the last time Pakistan had a PM who had a PhD, is a former professor, well published and multi-lingual.

It is noteworthy that in Pakistan, diplomacy and external affairs are also done by the army. In most countries, that is the sole perogative of the head of state or head of govt.

Military chiefs meet other military chiefs, head of state meets other heads of state, foreign ministers visit other foreign ministers etc. That is the established protocol.

If Pakistan had 100 honest, hard working and intelligent politicians, the country would transform within 5 years.

which is why I say ban all political parties, hire technocrats from Fortune 500 companies with zero political ties but who can also through leadership build a base of support with middle class and lower income groups (easier said than done of coursE)

Bro, your domestic politics is none of our business. Whoever the people of Turkey choose to represent them in Pakistan will be welcomed. Our relationship is with the Turkish people which doesn't change when the public representatives are changed.

truth be told

Matters "related to regional security and bilateral security and defence cooperation" TEND to be spoken and given input by military people and that especially applies to the case of Pakistan which is a security-seeking state.

Anytime foreign dignitaries from countries that are important to our foreign policy and strategic interests/objectives visit Pakistan they will meet with the COAS, CJCSC, ISI officials etc. It's nothing out of the ordinary at all.

p.s. Turkish PM met with civilians as well

I think PA is up to something big here, only time will tell.
well atleast, its time for sleepless nights for enimies of Pakistan!

Every person, with organizational experience will say this.
We have Pakistanis like Shaukat Aziz, all over the globe, willing to help Pakistan but 'dahi bhalay' and 'butt bradari' works in Pakistan.

I think he did some good things. Some dont agree for their own reasons. His credentials and professional background speak wonders though.

I wish Pakistanis, had not took part in restoration and democracy marches, but... all is for good.
If we'd have not face today's catastroph, we would never value his services.

well he's certainly had his honour restored...i even have people in my own family or even my own friends who became against him. I supported him, they abused me - and now they tell me I was right!

To that end, shouldn't the COAS' meeting have been with the Turkish army chief?

Maybe not in Pakistan, but it would be rather unusual in other places. I've never heard of Indian PMs meeting CIA chiefs or army chiefs when they go to Washington, or US presidents meeting RAW chiefs or service chiefs. At least, not exclusively - they may be present as part of a ceremony.

Ok. But why such visibility to such meetings ? It is your Army PR that's putting out these photos.

So this is not business as usual even in the Pakistani context !!
