GDP growth to be 6.3pc: ADB
Wed, Apr 6th, 2011 5:18 pm BdST

Dhaka, Apr 6 (bdnews24.com) — Bangladesh may achieve 6.3 percent GDP growth in the current fiscal year, says the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

In its Outlook 2011 released on Wednesday, the ADB also indicated that the inflation may hit 8 percent.

It said Bangladesh needed political stability for its sustainable development.

However, the government expects 6.7 percent growth in the current fiscal.

Thought this was a India thread, when I saw this in the latest threads section, thinking 6.3% is way to low for India.

Never the less well done neighbours.

No worry. It is only years away when we will grow 8% or more per year. Our manufacturing base cannot be enlarged only because of power and gas shortage. When these are solved we will catch the fastest growth cycle.

Considering the recession throughout the world a 6.3% growth is not that bad when garments sector is the only engine to pull us ahead. We are outbidding many of the asian competitors in this field.
