"birthright" is an unknown word in international trade ----but in the context of the discussion : Maybe because the rule of reciprocity applies --India awarded MFN status to Pakistan years back.

There are no rules of this nature..... India did what it felt was right.... a reciprocation from Pakistan isn't binding..... Pakistan should formulate its FP with complete independence..... and not with a feeling of being obliged!
