Japan has her best chance by upgrade her position in US led world. The only thing Japan can hope is a promotion to higher rank in US rank system. People, this is a thread about Russian developing its islands. It is not about China or India. Stop hijacking the thread.

In any case, it is in Russia's interest to develop those islands as they are very underdeveloped right now. And if Russia can to do it successfully then it will bring other economic gains, like tourism and improved fishery.

As Russia is a strong country, the Americans will not help and neither give permission to Japan to react in any meaningful way, so there is nothing really Japan can do about it.
