Fraser Island dingo attack leaves boy in hospital with leg injuries

A six-year-old child is in hospital after being bitten multiple times by a dingo on Fraser Island on Saturday evening.

Paramedics were called shortly after 6:00pm to reports a boy was bitten on the lower leg at Eurong on the island's eastern side.

An ambulance spokesperson said the boy was in a stable condition.

The Bundaberg Lifeflight helicopter airlifted the child to nearby Hervey Bay Hospital for further treatment.

In July 2017, a 25-year-old woman suffered minor injuries after being bitten on the arm by a dingo at Lake Mackenzie near the centre of the island.
