what is the point of making it ILLEGAL to deny genocide happened??

seriously what does it achieve?? nothing at all

for a free country such as france, is that not against its principles of free speech?

freedom of expression? etc

i think they are stupid and only making things worse for themselves

I agree with you. The same can be said about the holocaust. I don't deny the holocaust, I believe it has happened to Jews and East-European people, but it's stupid to make it illegal for others to deny it in some particular European countries.

yep everyone has the right to an opinion and the right to express it!!

i dont deny holocaust happened either, but i do dispute jews figured and they need a nice big carton of Harden the Fk up

most people who died in "holocaust" were polish people.... you see it wasnt just jews in them camps, it was polish christians, polish gypsies, and yes polish jews too, but majority were not jews

my pop was in some of them camps and escaped

Well, That's another issue. I also believe the death toll has been exaggerated in general. For example the death toll in Auschwitz had been exaggerated to be around 4 million people by the red army but the real number is less than 1.5 million. I think the death toll of the Jews is way smaller than the 6 million figure.Unfortunately, the holocaust is now talked about as a genocide against the Jews while Many other people died as well, like Polish people and gypsies as well. But that doesn't change the fact that the Holocaust is a very ugly event in the history of humanity, the number and the race shouldn't matter at all, the holocaust must be observed as an ugly event in history and should not be politicized or be given special treatment.
I feel really sorry for those people, Jews and Non-Jews, who suffered from the holocaust, I can't imagine myself in the shoes of any one of them and I mean it, but it doesn't mean we should make the holocaust holier than anything else on the planet and make a taboo for denying it.
I'm totally against punishment for denial of genocides. the Armenian genocide and the Holocaust aren't the only examples of genocides in history. People have the right to deny what they want. People deny the existence of God (including me) and we see no outcry. People deny zillions of facts everyday in their lives and nothing happens. If we exclude some few cases of facts and genocides and we set punitive measure for denying them as law it will only have negative effects and will create sensitivity against those events.

sure i agree with a lot of that, i think the jews add onto that all the people that died.. not just those who were gassed

i think the figure of those who died in camps wether it be by being gassed or by other means to be around 6 - 7 million... but as i said, most of them were polish people not jewish... yet the jews claim them as their own to emphasize their zionist ideals... they just used it all to be given a country .. even though 98% of israel was legally owned by palestinians who were given no compensation.. the jewish question of the palestinians was answered with ethnic cleansing and the compensation they gave to them was by killing half their familys so they wouldnt have as many expenses
