Many Muslims are not the best ambassadors of Islam, especially many young Indian Muslims.

Islam itself is an older form of socialism/progressivism, so generally the progressive among Muslims should be the ones to be heard whenever any talk regarding Islam happens.

but how much does islam has a role to play there ? even hindus in kerala or bengal have socialist icons as their idols , but did hinduism had any role to play there. Its ones political inclinations , religion has no role here. Remember that kid Mashal khan in pakistan , who had a karl marx picture in his room , he was a socialist like you. He was lynched on suspicions of blasphemy , so please don't tell me islam promotes socialism & progressive thinking in any way. You know that's a joke!

Countries like saudi arabia which are governed by islamic ethos are anything but progressive. And this despite being one of the wealthiest with all the oil money. There are several other examples , please look around.

Yes, the Mashal Khan lynching was a tragedy but it is good that many of the lynchers or inspirers were jailed.

Saudia is not worth giving as an example. Again, it is incorrect to say that Saudia represents Islam.

Nope.

Those were political machinations engineered from the top down, not bottom up. Uneducated people ruled by charismatic rulers (no doubt) were fed ideas.
A people's movement is something like the Arab spring that brought back Islam. Like the Islamic Revolution in Iran. These are examples of people's movements. Not the authoritarian secularist Gaddafi or Saddam.
