Now, a former IAF chief too has accepted defeat:

Actually no, the former IAF chief seems to be implying that even if IAF had inducted Rafale they would only have been able to down half (only the 3rd gen Mirage) out of the total of 24 (other 12 being JF17). So they may actually need F22s to counter Paf F16s and JF17s

A fleet of F-22A Raptors in the right hands (experienced pilots), would wipe the floor with any Air Force. These aircraft are far ahead of Su-35 let alone MKI.

My take is that India has a shortage of good pilots. Not the first time PAF has humiliated them; study aerial battles of 1965 war.
