Why are you assuming i am supporting some plane or some country. It is my point of view that every part of a plane has to be manufactured in your country by your company in order for it to be indigenous.

FOR EXAPMLE -- CHOCOLATE SAMOSA.

you cannot import chocolate from uk or us and call this dish indigenous. But you can use chocolate from indian company and call this indigenous. FYI TOT of chocolate has already happened.

OnTopic: No one re-invents the wheel. And everyone will take stuff off-the-shelf and use it. Its easier and cheaper. Plus taking stuff from a different country and combine to make a complete system dose not make it less indigenous. Well yes the system becomes dependent on supplier of the sub-systems but then it is true if its a local supplier. Eg, every patent filed till this date will have some or the other component made by different entity than the patent applicant, so dose it mean that the third party supplier will have a share in the patented product ?? No !! Every one had access to the supplier but the patent applicant used his own intellect to churn up the product from the raw materials.

Why would you love that? The JF-17 was developed and tested in Chengdu, China. The Tejas is being developed and tested in Bangalore, India. The JF-17 is not "yours" anymore than the MKI is ours. In fact, the MKI is more Indian than the JF-17 is Pakistani.

What you are doing with JF-17 (manufacturing something developed in another country), India has been doing for 50 years. We have manufactured thousands of mig-21s, Jaguars, Gnats, and the sophisticated Su-30MKI. Pakistan is only just able to make a relatively unsophisticated foreign fighter, whereas we could do that since ages, and we are in fact manufacturing one squadron of the several times more capable MKIs every year.

Some day when you design an airframe and perform all the flight tests necessary to iron out every niggling issue with it, you will understand the difference between developing and manufacturing.

And Tejas? I guess 100% manufactured in India except French design. American engine, Israeli radar, Russians weaponry and Swedish support in design improvement

lol..It uses Indian design,Indo-Israeli radar,Indian Avionics & can make use of most of IAFs A2A & A2G weapons-wether Indian,Russian or Israeli.

Swedish help,what non sense.

JF 17's design was undertaken in China,with help of Grumman & Mikoyan as consultants.It uses a Russian engine,Chinese avionics
