Fighter jets, helicopters swarm skies after IAF carries out mega exercise in Pokhran

The Indian Air Force (IAF) on Saturday (Febraury 16) carried out a mega exercise in Pokhran, Rajasthan, involving almost all variants of its fighter jets and attack helicopters, in a fire power demonstration near the border with Pakistan.

The exercise came two days after 40 CRPF personnel were killed in a suicide attack in Kashmir's Pulwama by Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday (February 15) said security forces have been given full freedom to retaliate against the attack.

In the Vayu Shakti exercise, the IAF showcased fire power capability of indigenously-developed platforms like Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas, Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) and efficacy of the Akash surface-to-air missile and Astra air-to-air missile.

Army Chief General Bipin Rawat, defence attaches of several countries and top officials of defence ministry also witnessed the exercise.

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, who is an honorary group captain of the IAF, was also present.

I was like lol, you are supposedly in a state of attack and you are doing exercise, who does that? Where is the element of surprise, where is cold start? Instead they are doing exercises which Pakistan would be keeping a close eye on and at the same prepare itself for any eventuality.

Good , release your anger in this exercise , if possible build some mock up targets with Pakistani flag on it and destroy it , make a movie and show as surgical strike , it will calm your public .
