It depend what type or kind or in what circumstances one commit Suicide … If a woman after her honor commit suicide one can one call it haram ??
In the same way professor lost his honor …………… Now Allah Will be the Judge on Judgment Day and HE Will Surely Do Justice not only on That Day but HE Will Surely make example out of culprits in this world..

No where I try to judge the man. I only said that suicide is another extreme and Haram in Islam.

Well I am not Mufti, all I know is sucide is Haram. Allah knows best.

You haven't answer any of my question !!!!!!! As I said it depend on type of problem one is facing …. Honor is upmost thing for Humans …….. He lost it not because of some corruption case but because of SEX case ,,,, it must for him just like RAP for honorable woman …….. And just like woman do he also commit suicide ……
Instead of blaming him for cowardness start asking justice for him … Govt should have to punish all the culprits ..
Ali Zafar is alive , even High court gave judgment in his favour !!! what happened to misha ?? and all those culprits joined her ?? Don't you think Professor knew nothing will going to work in his favour just because of this case …..

The man had a fighting chance, he has written a letter and formulated a strategy in that letter. He made suggestions, he should have followed up on this case since his honor was important for him. There was a committee formed and he appealed again. He could have taken the matter to the court even since his honor meant so much to him. He shouldn't have given up.

Fully agree .. Not only this but Punish the culprits …… In this case the girl , her supporters , the commaitte and Most importunely Misha shafi , Punish him at least 14 years in jail and all the helpers 7 years ..

Suicide is Haraam. There's no if or but in this.

A person must fight till death.. Either kill the rapist or get killed in process. If both couldn't be done, the person lives a life of a ghazi..

Suicide is a major sin. An only exception is where in a war, you believe that you will inflict heavy damage to the enemy but in the process will lose your life..

As I said Suicide is 100% Haram ……… But then come some circumstances like woman or man losing her honor because of sex or War , and Only ALLAH Will Judge these ….

Read the verse again. It says "ALLAH DOES NOT BURDEN A SOUL BEYOND THAT IT CAN BEAR". So after this, no doubt remains that a committer couldn't bear the burden.

He could have fought a long war and rewarded with an extremely beautiful life in hereafter.

You are killing the enemy in a war.. It is not a circumstance.. It's like you are sure you will be killed but will inflict heavy damage. Your intention is not to commit suicide. You still make dua to Allah to save your life give you a victory.

To commit a suicide with the intention of committing a suicide is Haraam..
