We are witnessing a new cultural revolution. The newer generations are being taught that America's heritage is evil. And yes, parts of it were evil, but ignoring that evil was fundamental to maintaining a pride in American identity. When you are constantly told that the founding fathers were evil because they had slaves or were complicit in genocide, then you are damaging the very foundation of your country because the fact is, the US was built on genocide and slavery, as much as it was also built on loftier ideals like democracy and individual rights.

Also with the rise of the non-White population, particularly Black and Latino, you have a segment of the population who do not have a stake in the White colonizer, imperialist identity. In fact, they are the VICTIMS of it. So this cultural revolution will be PERMANENT. As Blacks and Latinos become say, 40% of the population, it will introduce permanent fissures into the unity of the American identity because they will be invested in overturning the White American colonialist identity that had formerly been the foundation of American national identity.

Absolutely. Especially among rural and country folk. Antagonism, toxicity and division will become very pronounced as the US increasingly becomes two countries, One will be urban, racially diverse, politically leftist, rejects the traditional American identity, dominated by billionaire globalist neoliberals living in Big Cities, the other will be rural, White American, politically conservative and increasingly insular.
