There is something called User testing where they pick random EVM and checks the functionality, any anomaly in the algorithm can be found that way.

Not true ... functionality testing cannot detect every possible trojan.

EVMs need to be physically accessed to be tampered. In a populous country like India, that will mean capturing hundreds of them for a single MP seat.
Not so easy to do.

Much easier to pre-install trojans at the manufacturing plant.

If you want to rig, EVM is the way to go. Ballot box stuffing is too visible.
