Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal has expressed his hope that all capable persons of the country will have employment opportunity by 2030.

“I believe that by 2030, every capable person of the country would come under cent per cent employment,” he said on Saturday, reports BSS.

Mentioning that the current poverty rate in the country is 21 per cent, Kamal said the government aims to alleviate this rate to between 0 and 3 per cent by 2030.

The finance minister came up with the statement while addressing a function to distribute educational equipment to students of different schools marking the 73rd birth anniversary of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Sheikh Russell Jatiya Shishu-Kishore Parishad organised the function at the National Museum in Dhaka.

State Minister for ICT Junaid Ahmed Palak, lawmaker Mahmud us Samad Chowdhury, Bangladesh Economic Association General Secretary and Janata Bank Chairman Jamaluddin Ahmed also addressed the programme, among others. Founding Chairman of the Parishad M Roqibur Rahman chaired the event.

The Finance Minister said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina suggested him to make necessary arrangement so that at least one member of every family of farmers, potters, workers, blacksmiths, handloom workers, get employment.

“None would be able to suppress us anymore as our economy is moving ahead. Bangladesh is expected to be among the first 20 economically developed countries by 2041,” he said.

Quoting data from the World Bank and the IMF, Kamal said Bangladesh is in the top in gaining GDP growth over the last 10 years while the country would snatch the 26th position in the global economy by 2027.

State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak said his ministry has taken initiatives to provide laptops for 200 meritorious students every year.

Unemployment is not a issue. The thing is there should be a rise in salary in each and every sector be it private or public.

In abroad, doctors are living a luxurious life while in Bangladesh doctors have to struggle. Some of them make it to the top and are living a luxurious life while most don't.

There should be a rise in pay in the law enforcement too so that police stops taking bribe.

Also most of the private companies of our country do not follow a certain pay scale. There should be regulations to maintain a certain pay scale for employees.

As usual, it is another big talk without giving us any details of how this inefficient minister will make it happen. It is like another weather forecasting that people have been hearing since 1947.
