I think its best for us to chuck this TOT on engine and get the planes fly now.
The only huddle will be the TOT and clearance for TOT.
Why not just put the engine?, If EJ200 were there then the letest techs would have come to us, noe EJ not being there, and GE being an old engine, I think we should drop the TOT stuff and move ahead with the LCA 2.
But especially on the engine side we need any ToT that is useful to impove our own capabilities in regard of Kaveri engine, or any furture engine development. What's the use of getting LCA flying with GE engines, but ToT will be provided only to licence build non critical parts? I agree with you that we need to get LCA done as soon as possible, but we also have to get the most out of these deals and imo Eurojet could have offered more.
