ISTANBUL • Turkey will never give its support to the efforts to divide China, and the bilateral relations will develop “in a very different way” following a series of top-level meetings, Xinhua news agency reported Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan (picture) as saying on Thursday.

“We will never allow the disintegration and fragmentation of China,” the president said in a question-and-answer session with foreign press in Istanbul.

“We have been exerting efforts to maintain our relationship with integrity. We never support the division of China. We will never help something like this,” he added.

Erdogan spoke of his recent meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in the Tajik capital Dushanbe, his travel to Osaka, Japan for a G20 summit later this month, and his upcoming visit to China on July 2.

“We will discuss Turkey-China relations in all aspects. And I believe that our bilateral relations will develop in a very different way after these meetings,” he remarked.

We noticed that Turkey is changing attitude toward China recently, a good step to start with.
They can never be trusted. You know why they suddenly change of attitude? They are under heavy pressure financially and need China money. Once they got the money, they will stab you again. If they are really sincere. Ban East Turkestan organisation and ban protest from these members. Members of this terrorist organisation will be arrested and persecute in turkey. After this is done then we can talk about more cooperation.

The government of Turkey has changed its policies towards China long time ago. There's almost zero China-bashing in the Turkish pro-Erdoğan media since 1 year ago. Back than, our foreign minister promised China to fight anti-China sentiment in Turkey.

I've said it many times, the government and the Turkish public have different opinions regarding China which is why Turkish nationalists are criticizing Erdoğan.

However, the opinion about China is changing in Turkey, though, it happens very, very slowly. Still a majority is against China but polls are showing that this group is losing its support in the population but it takes time.

They are now begging for our help. :enjoy:

Not really, China already declined giving Turkey a 30b USD credit which would have been a second CPEC. However, China's OBOR project can not be realised if Turkey acts against it. This is also true.
