We have been dealing with a storage and data recovery company which happens to be one of the largest player in this industry headquartered in Canada (NOT USA). So big infact that many name brand OEM like outsource to them. They have several laboratories and sales offices based in USA, Canada, China and UK. One can estimate their size when they have fortune 500 entities on their list of recurring customer. Now the interesting part, being a Chinese company to begin with I have little doubts they aren't using their competitive advantage to mine on useful corporate data?? Any food for thought?

I doubt it, I'm guessing you're talking about companies primarily involved in Computer Forensics and Data Discovery in the US has some of the toughest regulations. If that's going on, regulators are not doing their job.

Most of their work is handed to them by lawyers and the evidence and data has to be kept in a certain way and in a certain level of security and certain times accessed otherwise the evidence would be deemed contaminated.

I have been dealing with them for long so without doubt I know its Chinese origin however they would deny it though and rather call themselves Canadian company.
