Jealous of what? Who will declare economic warfare on US? Chinese are interdependent with the US and they are the most likely to be able to challenge us economically but they are more focused on development to bother. Russia is dependent on their exports of natural resources until they fully diversify they are only a military threat. India is too jealous to let China lead and is not considered a threat anyway more like a counter to the Chinese, the Brazilians have too many of their own issues to sort out (bet half this forum didn't even know about the mass protests and riots in Brazil less than a year ago), and South Africa? Some people still wonder why they were even allowed in to BRIC lol.

Your confidence is misplaced. Have you heard about the Great American Depression of 2008? It was a major recession characterised by various systemic imbalances, and was sparked by the outbreak of the U.S sub-prime mortgage and financial crisis of 2007-08 resulting in a nose diving economy and millions of Americans losing their jobs.

It has happened. It can happen again. This time the American economy may never fully recover from a repeat crisis.
