Dutch law firm enters MH17 affray, takes Russia to European Court

An Amsterdam law firm has handed in a formal complaint against Russia to the European Court of Human Rights on behalf of the relatives of 55 people who died in the MH17 disaster. Beers Advocaten accuses Russia of contravening the victims’ human rights when it shot down the Malaysia Airlines plan above eastern Ukraine in 2014, and because it has frustrated the investigation into the incident. ‘My clients have the impression that Russia has not delivered important information to the Joint Investigation Team,’ lawyer Veeru Mewa told broadcaster NOS. ‘In addition, Russia has come forward with facts which have later transpired not to be true.’ The De Beer case has been put before the court today because it is six months since the investigators presented evidence of Russian involvement. According to the rules of the court, a case must be submitted no more than six months after the presentation of new evidence. If the case is accepted by the court, it could take five to seven years to be processed. In total, 298 people died when MH17 was brought down, most of whom were Dutch. Russia has continuously denied any involvement. DutchNews.nl has asked Beer Advocaten for comment. The Dutch case is not the first MH17-related case before the courts. In 2016, US lawyer Jerry Skinner placed a claim for €330m with the court on behalf of victims in Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia. That case was joined by 238 relatives of Dutch victims last June.

From what I gather, MH17 was shot down by ex Ukraine army personnel with a Buk. Anyway, the fault is on Boeing too. They didn't even bother put an RWR on Boeing 777. Or else the pilot would have been alerted of the plane been illuminated by radar and took the plane to safety.

The plane was shoot done by Russian units that is today a known fact, they even tracked done the russian commander who officle gave the order to fire.. all other claims around the shoot down are known today as lies...espacialy every claim russia made..

There's no proof it was shot down by Russia army. In fact, evidence points to ex Ukraine army who did it. The missile was built in 1986, not likely to have been in Russia army service in 2014.

I remember there had no explaination why the MH17 had changed it's course to the war zone, and at the start of the incident Ukraine provided all the evidences within an hour, which was unbeliveable that intel could be gather that quickly. Also some of picture evidences that proved to be fasle and the audio proof merely consist of fews words which could be falsified easily by editing. To be honest, this had been years since the incident and I cant remembered much of the details. Only thing I could say that is both side have no soild evidence, the West only have a report that has no physical evidence to support, beside saying Russian did this and that.

replacement of the BUK 9K-37 with newer with BUK 9K-317 M2 is planed to completed to 70% by 2020.
