Driving in India is just like driving in hell, the most delicate part is to avoid all the human and animal defeacation and other human waste. The roads have not been maintained since the departure of the British rulers.

I have noticed that people in Asia, in general, lack common sense, self preservation, and the ability to think more than 3 seconds ahead.

Most of those accidents could have been prevented if people simply thought " i don't know whats going on up ahead, I should be cautious"

Instead they think "..........." (as in nothing)

I am making this generalization for all of asia from Saudi to Korea. (Japan being the only civilized nation amongst us)

I don't know about Asia in general but SA, Indians seem to do all right with the ability to think 3 seconds ahead.
Visit Kerala once , i bet you'd never find so speed vehicular traffic on so narrow a road.
Or simply Youtube them, Kerala or Indian driving. Quite popular among tourists.

agree with Kerala part. same narrow highways and high vehicle density in west coast region(Mangalur-udupi) also.
the driving skills are needed in Indian roads where Drivers have to actually drives the Car, manoeuvring through the chaotic conditions our Cities and highways are these days(south India particularly). We are not even aware that most of the countries driving is highly dependent on traffic signals, road signs etc than driving skills.

the highest speed limit in Kerala state is 70kmph for passenger cars! Can You accept this? yet it is true that above such a speed, it is risky in highways in west coast region. speed interceptors and police educating people in highways sees no change! people are more interested in driving fast. one thing to blame is, when your state is like a long chain of congested towns all situated in highways, this is bound to happen. when 40kms of driving takes 2.25hours, crazy people will drive dangerously to reach faster.

thanks for proving you haven't been to India mate.
while you might find animal dung in some places (usually found near the poor sections in any city ) no where will you find human defecation except near railway tracks or slums .and some how i doubt you came to see the slums.

i know all about the speed interceptors . was in Goa over the new year and was driving my cousins car over the zuari bridge . never knew there was a speed limit . just as i came off the cops flagged me down . i was clocked at 60 kmp . the limit was 35 .
