Man I love their hand signals they are so frikkin cool!

Each shooter has his own style of body English that adds to the color and style of the operation.

I've heard it said that the deck of an aircraft carrier is the most dangerous environment in the world, barring direct combat. Jet engine suction, exhaust, propellers, helicopter blades, fuel, explosives, and those cables... if they break, they become whips that can cut a guy in two.

you can even get blown over deck
due to the after burner of jets

Here is how you do numbers with just one hand:

- The thumbs are not used.

- If the index finger is vertical = 1 but if the index finger is horizontal = 6. So if the index finger is flashed vertical then turn horizontal = 16. If the index finger is horizontal followed by vertical = 61.

- If all four fingers are vertical = 4 but if all four are horizontal = 9. So if all four fingers are flashed vertical then turn horizontal = 49. If all four fingers are horizontal followed by vertical = 94.

- If the index finger is vertical followed by a fist = 10. In other words, a fist = 0. So if three fingers are vertical followed by a fist = 30. If there is an open vertical palm followed by a fist = 50. If four fingers are horizontal followed by a fist = 90. There is no horizontal open palm.

The pattern is clear: Horizontal fingers means you add five. If four fingers are flashed horizontal, closed, then flashed horizontal again = 99, but it must be done rapidly to avoid confusion. To flash 909: four fingers horizontal, an upright fist, then four fingers horizontal.

My salute to these people!:yahoo::tup:

^^ This is EXACTLY how we tell a wingman to come up on a particular radio frequency, or we need to pass numbers. With a little practice, it's like texting, you can send and receive very fast.

It's best to hide your hand below the canopy rail completely between digits, or the transition between digits can be confusing.
