lol where did u here that? it is said India will overtake China by 2035.but according to Indians they will overtake china in 2015 but data in this show the gap is getting wider not narrower . why?
Wake up indians in this forum you are just not in our league yet may be in 20 years time you can compare yrself with us. at the mean time just learn from this indian chap
India is right now, where China was in 1990. At the cusp of their economic rise. Right now India is 20 years behind China in all aspects of life.
From it's woefully inadequate infrastructure. The fact that the lone highway from Delhi to Haryana to Punjab stops in the middle of cities so people on tractors and cows can graze past is just ridiculous. China already has unimpeded freeways while it's hard to travel over 30 km/h on some of India's highways.
China has a high-tech light rail system with blistering speeds. You can travel from mainland china to Tibet on a high-speed rail, in India, you'd be lucky to travel from Delhi to Mumbai by hanging onto the outside of a locomotive.
China already has the 2nd largest number of tall skyscrapers in the world, and it's cities are becoming world class Omega and Alpha cities. Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Hong Kong, just to name a few. India has Delhi and Mumbai which have slums right next to highrises.
China has already conducted a manned spaceflight, while India crashed a probe onto the moon with NASA's help. China is already nearly 55% finished with it's own space station, India can't even visit the ISS let alone build it's own.
China has started building it's own navigation satellite system to rival GPS, while India has to ask Russia to use their Glonass system.
China already has a fully indigenous military industrial complex which has already shipped more arms to Africa than Russia or the US. India buys 95% of it's arms from outside sources.
China has lifted nearly 400 million above the poverty line and now only about 100-150 million people live in poverty in China, while in India, the number is a staggering 500 million still living in poverty.
China built the worlds largest hydro-electric dam, the worlds second largest suspension bridge etc.
Beijing held the 2008 Olympic Games which were probably the best in history, and yet India barely was able to hold the Commonwealth games. They spent nearly 50% as much as the Beijing games due to corruption.
A growing popultion means nothing if the current population cannot be helped. You need to achieve equilibrium which China has sort of done.
Don't get me wrong, I love India, but there is a LOT to be done in India before it's even considered a great power. It's a regional power at best due to the growing military. Otherwise, even Turkey and Thailand have better infrastructure.
And please don't mention democracy. Only Indians know we don't have real democracy. We have a corrupt bureaucracy in which nepotism has existed for nearly 60 years. The fact that the wife of Rajiv Gandhi who is a caucasian, Italian-born woman, won the elections, just shows the sham of democracy. What's democratic when I can say the corrupt politicians, newspapers will start championing Rahul Gandhi who will be elected by the unedcuated masses.
India or China the next economic superpower? This shouldn't even be asked. It's China 100%. Though, ask me again in 2030 and then things will have changed. India is just too far behind in every aspect. Jai Hind.

Good response to all those troll threads started by Indians.
They have no right to lecture others on poverty, when they are literally at the very bottom of the world.

When the poor India on the other hand was able to help its neighbours like Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Srilanka, etc

but according to indians they will overtake china in 2015 but data in this show the gap is getting wider not narrower . why?

Go to the Bangladesh subforum here, and see how much they love you.
All India's neighbors are turning to China, except maybe Bhutan.
P.S. China is not rich at all. Maybe the cities like HK/Beijing/Shanghai are wealthy, but the per capita income for China as a whole, is still very low.
Why is that rich "China" not able to help her best buddies Pakistan and North korea and leaving them at the mecry of World bank and IMF?
That dosn't still answer my primary question.
China with 4 times the GDP of India, having better relationship with "all of india's neighbors except may be butan" could have helped their long time ally Pakistan from going to IMF time and again.
Bangladesh which hates India and has better relationship with China was still left to get $1 billion soft loan from Poor India.
