Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday hailed his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina's "unshakable resolve" to fight the menace of terrorism with a zero tolerance approach despite her "being a woman".
"It is heartening that Prime Minister of Bangladesh despite the fact that she is a woman is openly saying that she has zero tolerance for terrorism. I would like to congratulate Sheikh Hasina for her firmness to deal with the menace," the PM said while delivering a lecture at Dhaka University.
Even though Modi made the remark in praise of Sheikh Hasina, Twitteratti interpreted it as an insult to women around the world.
