Exactly, that is what makes hypersonic cruise missiles like the Brahmos so much suitable for use against high value targets. The terms tactical or strategic are in relation to a battle field environment in a conventional war. A ship load of biotoxins headed for Karachi for use by LET against India is a strategic target, but the ship itself is a tactical target. That is why we should not limit it for use in a littoral sense only. It is tailor made for striking targets deep inland and taking out high value targets before they even realise that they are being targeted. A group of infiltrators waiting to cross the LC in North Kashmir or a Chinese trawler in Indian waters off the Wheeler island spying on our missile tests, the options are limitless. However with ranges greater than those presently available, our options increase manifold. a 2000 KM hypersonic cruise missile sounds just fine be that a Brahmos or a modified Agni II.
Correct..Brahmos should not stop itself at Brahmos-H only. IF the "MOS" factor limits the range, We should replace this with anything else..Concentrating solely on Speed will not suffice...
