PressTV-Death sought for Saudis molesting Iran teens

A Saudi criminal court has called for “death penalty” for the two Saudi officers behind the sexual abuse of two teenage Iranian pilgrims at Jeddah airport, a senior Iranian official says.

Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary and Iranian Expatriates Affairs Hassan Qashqavi made the remarks in an exclusive interview with IRIB on Monday.

"The two criminal police officers were tried at the seventh branch of Jeddah’s Criminal Court this morning,” he added.

Good. Might even be the tiny start of a detente between the two bickering countries. Anyway, molesting little boys should be punished either way, even if they were Saudi boys, or Zimbabwean boys. Justice served.

And now, when Iran will lift the pilgrimage ban to Saudi Arabia? If they dont lift the ban immediately, it will seem a excuse the abuse issue.

Well I hope so of course. Perhaps with some added secuity measures? Tensions are running high right now, I don't know if it's really safe for Iranians to go there? (I mean angry Sunnis/Arabs, not the Saudi government) Even politically, if a bunch of Iranian pilgrims get killed or beaten up, that could escalate things again.

I don't know anything about this case or whether the accusations are correct or not but a death penalty might be slightly too harsh in this case unless they were outright "raped" which I doubt. Probably it was limited to "inappropriate touching". Hard to prove what is right and what is wrong without witnesses I guess?

In any case I have little sympathy for pedophiles anywhere and I would not cry if they were executed (if proven guilty).

This (if correct) was obviously an isolated accident. Also I am not sure where you got the idea that locals kill (really?) pilgrims of any nationality from? That's not the case. 6-8 million pilgrims visit each year and 99,9% face no problems at all. Iranians were/are one of the biggest groups of pilgrims.

Anyway although the Saudi Arabian judiciary is not perfect (no MENA country is) then such behavior has zero tolerance in KSA and punishments are harsh.

In general, don't do crime in KSA no matter who you are.

Good to hear. No, I'm not saying locals are killing Iranians. I meant with the hightened tensions, it might not be very smart for Iranians to go there right now? Syria and secterianism etc.

About the incident: since it's all middle eastern countries, they didn't go into details. That would be shameful. I suspect also, it being middle eastern countries, that they probably 'stuck something inside somewhere' of those boys. I mean that's how people are emasculated in the middle east. Anyway, I wouldn't think a Saudi court would punish innocent Saudi officers to placate Iran.
