What's new

Dara Shukoh, poet among warriors

All i can say is, history is tempered with badly, as for historians from your side, they due to envy of Alamgir’s destruction of temples (which is a bad act), portray him an overall villain. He was successful as well as a big failure. Excessive spendings on battles dried up the treasure, decades later, EIC took the chance and rubbed the mighty empire back to delhi fort.

Apart from Akbar, there should not any glimse of respect for any Islamic rulers in Indian history who destroyed temples...It is secondary thing what good things he has done when we know that he destroyed temples.

For Hindus perspective Dara Shakau Was best @TheGreatMaratha says because he was closest to Atheist and favor them (Hindus/non Muslim of India) more than Muslims of India, and that's why @TheGreatMaratha other extremist hindus like Akbar and Dara Shakau

who ever will respect us, they will be respected.

History is history

Vikings, Romans, are celebrated in areas they conquered like the UK

Only hindutva try to distort and rewrite history

Dara Sikho was a useless drunkard and poet and he got what he deserved

Discussing medieval rulers and their doings, and that also based upon the largely fabricated and exaggerated historical accounts, appears to be quite a favorable pastime on PDF.

There is no comparison between 2 characters...Modi will stand with all Indian who are Muslims...Every nation alligns with the culture of the land...We do not want to disrespect Muslims ot Islam as it is part of our heritage...but that heritage can not override overall culture of the land which is Hindustani....

I liked your 1st line of your post...If history is history, Why not Islamic world apply the same principle in Palestine issue or other issues which are hostage to history??

Dara was a good poet but never a great leader. Aurangzeb expanded the empire and made it strong. It was after death of aurangzeb that subcontinent slowly fell into hands of brits.
Its natural that aurangzeb would be despised by hindus because he was religious more than his father and grand father. They loved dara obvious reasons. Aurangzeb was extremely honest and stedfast. No one could stand him. Its natural the RSS hindus would hate him and try to change history with their lies.
This one idiot compares him to hitler while being a follower of RSS that is directly derived from nazis.

Your post makes no sense

How does justice in Palestine have to do with anything we are discussing here, or is it that you bakhts will automatically point at something irrelevant when you don't have something sensible to say

Dara was a good poet but never a great leader. Aurangzeb expanded the empire and made it strong. It was after death of aurangzeb that subcontinent slowly fell into hands of brits.

He expanded the kingdom but did not make it strong. In fact he made it weaker. There were. major rebellions in his kingdom.

He inherited a huge treasury and a huge army so expansion was not difficult. Akbar expanded a lot more with a lot less and left a stable kingdom.

Aurangzeb was better than even akbar.
Dara was a drunkard, cheapMan, just like his grandfather
Dara shukoh translated upanishads into persian...even many hindus dont know sanskrit..he learnt sanskrit...he learnt persian..he read vedas..upanishads..and translated them into a language tht is not his mother tongue..a cheap drunkard cant do that..respect the man for his knowledge..god is watching..dont slip your tongue

Persian was his mother tongue.

Persian was his mother tongue.
Although Persian was the dominant and "official" language of the empire, the language of the elite was a Persianised form of Hindustani called Urdu and locally, Lashkari. The language was written in a type of Perso-Arabic script known as Nastaliq, and with literary conventions and specialised vocabulary borrowed from Persian, Arabic and Turkic; the dialect was eventually given its own name of Urdu.[citation needed] The Mughals spoke Urdu,[127] and by the year 1700, the Mughals had formalized the language.
source wikipedia

Mughals never spoke persian at their homes..early mughals spoke some of turkish...later mughals spoke hindustani at homes as they were indianised by then.
