The Croatian minister confirmed the participation of nationalist Croats in the fighting in the Donbas, commenting on Croatian media reports of there being 20 volunteers fighting for Ukraine, most of whom are veterans of the Balkan wars of the 1990s.

According to media reports, they came to Mariupol in January 2015 to join Ukraine’s Azov volunteer battalion. The Croatian foreign minister did not name the exact number of Croats who are now involved in the war.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Serbian government in the summer of 2014 confirmed that the Serbian nationalists, so-called "Chetniks", most of whom also participated in the war in the Balkans, were fighting for the Russian-backed militants in the Donbas.

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić said that several dozen Serbian Chetniks had joined the militants, and urged them to return home.

Contact Group agrees to pull out foreign units, disarm illegal groups
A package of measures towards the implementation of the Minsk agreements signed at the Contact Group on Thursday requires the withdrawal of all foreign armed units, military hardware and mercenaries from Ukraine under supervision of the OSCE.

The same provision of the document compels the disarmament of all illegal groups.

MOSCOW, February 12. /TASS/. Moscow wants to remind Croatia, whose citizens are fighting in the Ukrainian army, that a new peace agreement reached in Minsk calls for the withdrawal of all foreign forces from Ukraine, the Russian foreign ministry said on Thursday.

Moscow is concerned and surprised that Croatian First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusic confirmed in a statement to the media that Croatian soldiers were fighting in the Ukrainian army, the ministry said in a statement, noting that the legitimacy of Croats’ involvement had not been called into question.

Media reported earlier dozens of Croats had joined the Azov volunteer punitive battalion. Half of its soldiers were foreigners, according to the Croatian News Agency HINA.

"It is remarkable that statements about European nationals’ involvement in Kiev forces’ punitive operations are being made together with unfounded accusations of Russian soldiers' presence in Ukrainian territory," the Russian ministry said.
"Participation of foreign mercenaries, including Croatian, in Ukraine’s internal conflict is unacceptable and only aggravates the situation," it said.

"We want Croatian authorities to turn particular attention to decisions taken by the Contact Group [on Ukraine] in Minsk today, on February 12, on a package of measures for the implementation of the Minsk agreements, particularly on the withdrawal of all foreign armed units, military equipment, and also mercenaries from Ukrainian territory under OSCE [Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe] observation and disarmament of all illegal groups," the ministry added.

That would leave the "rebels" without any soldiers as most of them are Russian soldiers in disguise.Doubt it will happen.

Ukrainian Separatists have even claimed mobilization of 100,000 soldiers. I think here what matters is the transferring of heavy and modern weapons.
