CPEC first priority of Pakistan, US concerns baseless: Firdous

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan Sunday termed China Pakistan Economic Corridor ( CPEC) as the topmost priority of Pakistan.

In a series of tweets, she said this great corridor will open new vistas of economic development and prosperity for not only Pakistan and China, but also for the whole region.

Not concurring with the US concerns on the project, she said.

CPEC is a guarantor to our economic development, she added.

She said China is a long-standing and deep friend and it has always supported Pakistan in every hour of need.

Awan said Pak-China friendship has assumed a proverbial status and it is sweeter than honey, higher than the Himalayas and deeper than oceans.

The special assistant said economic zones to be established under CPEC will generate job opportunities for the people.

She said the commercial loans taken from China will witness a remarkable reduction in the months and years to come.

I havent visited Pakistan since 2015 part of the reason why I joined PDF was to keep tabs and to follow CPEC stuff but a year and half since joining I noticed its just a diaspora playground more confusion

Pakistan as a country, and as a people are reactionary and always 10 years behind. There are people who say we dont need to argue it because the CPEC is so good. But If you keep your people stupid then others will influence them. If CPEC is great then why not create a public discourse around it. Defeat the Naysayers with your words, make a philosophy around it.

Right now the west and Hindus have put the CPEC in their crosshairs. Now you will see the narrative that will be built around it and how we will react with emotions and rhetoric.

And thats what I hate about our people so much we are way too emotional about everything failure from state to build narrative for our people and our diaspora is failure we only can see Pakistan to the prism we want to see sadly and most are delusional or self hated freaks

The only people who are negative against CPEC are bizarrely the educated types, I have had to tell them who else is going to invest in your country? I dont see the yanks investing in your country but you have a negative outlook of CPEC!

Nice observation I have family members a few of them who despise CPEC they are mainly upper middle class like my uncle who is engineer for Tetra Pak he studied and grew up part his life in the States since his father was head manager of HBL in New York back in the 90s anyways he is generally more pro US in general
