LAHORE - The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday reserved its judgment over the case of constituency NA-122 election result.
Justice Ejazul Haq was hearing the case. During the hearing, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq had submitted a plea to impede the investigation of the election tribunal. Lawyer of the speaker informed the court that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has challenged the electoral results of the constituency in the election tribunal. He further said that documents were not annexed with the petition, which is a violation of Public Representation Act. He said that the election tribunal should therefore declare the investigation null and void.
Imran’s lawyer told the court that record rigging was witnessed in NA-122 and that the documents have been presented before the tribunal through electoral rigging petition, the investigation should continue and a quick decision should therefore be made. The court reserved its decision after hearing arguments from both sides.
