Yes....HAL has minimal design inputs in the LCA. It's an ADA design. But point is, we're all big on design, but the end product takes forever to reach the user's hands. For once, let them deliver on what they promised before taking up newer work. We've had enough khwabi Pulao already.
I completely agree.. I was just worried if HAL would pull in a foreign vendor tot do this while NAL and ADA have adequate experience.
That project was stillborn. We purchased Hawks for AJT, and we cannot have yet one more trainer type for LIFT. It would make more sense to use the LCA Mk1 as a LIFT, after LCA mk2 enters production. Besides, looking at the proposal they had put up for HJT39, and given the fact that they cannot make a stage 1 or stage 2 trainer on time, anybody can see that they would struggle to develop HJT39. Looking at the proposed specs, it's like a twin engined LCA.
It was abandoned for some reason, not that they could not pull off..
