Sir, is this one replacing the older one ?
The Navy seems to be the only branch of the armed forces keeping discussions on PDF alive at the moment
Just wish they induct a squadron of dedicated naval attack / air defence fighters - something twin engine, long range and long endurance![]()
I have no idea about enemy , main question is "Are we ready ?" ……. Just look at our convectional fighting abilities ,,,, To counter indain hot and cold we made A-bombs ,,,,, better option to counter them is upgrade Lahore and Gujranwala Corps (all divs minimum Fully mechanised with IFVs , AFVs , Tanks etc)..Enemy is not that merciful to let our defence strong..
IMO I don't think the PN is actually asking for its own fighter wing. While it's modernizing the surface fleet, the PN's real threat capability will be its relatively large submarine fleet. Once the Hangors are in, it'll have 11 AIP subs, not a joke by any stretch. However, it's apparently looking to augment the fleet further with a mini-SSK, which may be a proper AShW/ASW asset in its own right, and make our littoral waters basically inaccessible.I’m baffled that the Navy hasn’t strongly pushed for beefing up its Air Arm. PAF is to blame as well as they keep right control on the air assets but it’s very stupid of governments in past rejecting Navy requests considering we are making JF-17s at home.
Considering the amount we are investing in Gwadar and coastal area for future commerce.

So, the naval-to-naval scenario will ultimately center on the submarines (with the surface vessels and MPA/LRMPAs offering some anti-sub and anti-air capability in support).
Where can I read more about the Hangor's and how capable will it be compared to Indian Sub? Also, we have any plans for SLBM capable Sub?
