That is incorrect - you really need to get your maths right. Since the total amount is $45 million, the interest rate will apply on $45 Million. Now the time period in question is just over 70 years. With interest rates fluctuation upwards and downwards over 70 years, the average rate will come to around 10% per annum. Hence, $45 Million kept in the bank for 70 years, at an average interest rate of 10% compounded annually comes to $44 Billion Dollars! And that is a lot of money!
