CNN should stop politicizing the UK truck deaths

I agree with you on this one. It's true that US media won't obviously go much into details to criticise Vietnam political system/government for this incident unlike if it was China. However, China is a big country and an emerging superpower which obviously places the country at odds with he current world sole superpower and world police the US. So i think it's normal that the US will put more of its focus on China than say small countries like Vietnam.

39 people found dead is a big deal. BTW CNN wasn’t making much of a deal over the 3 Chinese mentioned above found dead in a car trunk last month (anybody hear about it?? Hmm??). So you can’t say they are politicizing things unfairly.

There is one province, Fujian, people there have a long tradition of moving overseas illegally, they are an unique bunch, some people from poor regions in Fujian haven't got over that poor man's mentality, US cities now are less developed than Fujian cities with less opportunities, US was no longer that rich and developed as what they learned since their childhood, it'll take some time for them to change their mentality, slowly they are getting there, in another decade, they will fully get over their poor man's mentality.
To be fair , US and China are not at the same stage of development. US is one of the most developed/advanced country on earth, China is the world's largest developing country. So it's normal that some less well off Chinese will still be taking risks to emigrate to the US/UK/Australia etc for a better life/opportunities for some time to come.

Lol! It’s going to be a very very very far off date when you routinely start pulling dead Americans out of car trunks at your border because they think the US is so gloomy that they are willing to risk death to go to awesome China. LOL!!!

You have a failed state for many people and you should try admitting it. So much so that people are willing to die to escape it. Sure not all people are millionaires here in the US but it isn’t soooooo bad that countries are finding them dead trying to cross their borders.
Unlike US, China is not an immigration country, even you smuggle in, you can never be a citizen, so there's no future for illegal immigrants in China, US is everybody's country cause including you yourself, everyone is an immigrant by ancestry, many Europeans died on their way to US as well in the history, but China is only for the Chinese.
You claim China a failed state, I don't how many do you really believe would share your belief on this.

I don’t think people who risk life and limb to get into a country really care or know the finer details about what the immigration policies are. Their main objective is for a much better life. For smuggled in people to the US that means servitude and living in a basement. You can’t work legitimately for any company. You are at the bottom living in constant fear.

That's also why many Europeans moved to US as well, US is everyone's country, made for immigrants. that's fundamentally different from China. China just got developed very recently, barely a decade or so, the mentality needs some time to change, especially for those we are from very poor regions, but the standard of living is already on par with the states in many parts of China, you will see less and less people moving out of China, some southern provinces have a long tradition of moving overseas because of the population pressure, that's why you see so many Chinese in south east Asian countries, those countries are not rich, but Chinese are good business people, they move to whatever place they can make money, even very poor countries.

Also a level of development prevents people from thinking about risking it all.

Know anybody in the U.K. who thinks things are soooo bad that it’s worth risking their life to be smuggled in the trunk of a car across a hot desert?

It's a mentality problem, it needs time to change, someone paid up to 100,000 dollars to illegally enter US, I don't how many Americans can foot that much cash. They'll find out how stupid they did. What US really is is completely different from what they heard and believed.

Unfortunately you aren’t grasping that BECAUSE you are not full developed people HAVE that mentality. Why aren’t they simply rushing to your more developed areas?

There aren’t poor people in the U.K. risking life and limb trying to get to the US. They move to some other part of their country instead.

Because China was very very poor barely a decade ago, that's not the case of UK, some people in China still haven't been able to change their mentality with this fast development.

So China has an image problem with it's own citizens? How did that happen???
People in remote areas ignoring Chinese media showing prosperity..and holding dear to their old recordings of Hollywood movies??

That's not image problem, it's decades old mentality, Chinese media has been reporting very positive about the west and ignores their problems, that's I guess something you don't know, it's getting better now but still not fully fixed, check this out and see how Chinese media and public opinions were pro west in the past and how people realized they were totally wrong once they experience it by themselves.

LOL! So the Chinese government has switched the narrative of the US being paved with gold and China full of cobblestones to one where China is paved with gold and the US if full of cobblestones.

Well I guess that’s what you get for relying on government controlled media.
