Cloud computing explained

On a serious note: This whole "cloud-computing" hysteria is just the internet re-hashed if you ask me.

Well, it's a bit more than that.

We are all used to storing our emails and pictures and whatnot on the internet, but the software companies want to shift to a subscription model for software. Software becomes a service, not a product. Basically, instead of paying once for software and installing it on the local PC, they want people to buy an ongoing subscription or pay-per-use model where the software itself is either run remotely, or downloaded from the internet for each use.

They are just putting a fancy name on something which may end up costing more to the consumer and will generate massive ongoing revenues for them.
 
This guy is a riot..
I wonder if he has even used a cell phone.. let alone his talk of Cloud computing and America.
