replacing india with china in saarc would be like a wagon dragging a dead cow (india) to a strong healthy horse dragging the wagon (china). china wants asia to prosper together for asia, whereas india wants asia to prosper for the benefit of themselves and the anglo-americans and europeans. indian loyalty lies not with south asia or even asia in general. they believe they are some kind of hybrid europeans and feel obliged to please them in order to feel a false sense of superiority for themselves.

not to mention india is a lap dog for the anglo-americans. it seems all of india's neighbors knows this, that's why they all support china in saarc- nepal is an exception as it is being held hostage by the dehli regime, but even they will be smart to push india aside when the time is right.

2. South Asia (you may have missed geography classes) includes Pakistan and it is the one which is most excited about a role for China. So the reference to Pakistan.
