Been to New Delhi for a symposium several years ago. :)

As for Indian / Pakistani / South Asian Food... o man, i love , LOVE, Indian/Pakistan/SA food ! Ive a really good friend (his name is Awtar, his family from Rajasthan) and ever since he invited me to his home and served lamb curry with garlic nan, i've been addicted to anything curry, lol. I tried most SA food, plus there are a quite a few SA restaurants close to where i live. The owners probably wonder "why that Japanese guy always comes here?":lol:

My favorite dish is Butter Chicken. I like to put potatoes with it when i cook it. I mean, its probably not good for my cholesterol level, but i eat a lion's share, LOL.

Last time I enquired about this dish in a chinese restaurant, those guys said the dish is expensive and not available there. But they explained the difference between the duck dish I ordered and peking duck dish.

BTW Happy Chinese New Year !
Peking Duck is indeed quite a luxury dish... i tried at the most original restaurant 全聚德 (Quan Ju De) in Beijing, very delicious, the skin super crispy! yet expensive...:(
恭賀新禧 Happy New Year!
thx for your contribution. fan of sashimi & sushi here.:smokin: love 天婦羅 too.

Here here here ! I agree ! To more productive, healthy conversations !

To more fraternal, brotherly talks and spirits !:smitten:
nice to know you feel the same as i do...it's been crazy here recently...
 to peaceful discussions!

Me and my parents spent this spring festival in the city, so not that countryside big family gathering as last year.
Only very simple hotpot, meat, dry tofu, mushroom and vegetable, and very Wuhan-style fried Coupling Clamp(lotus root and meet enveloped by some flour, then fried)

I'm going to take a step back from posting in any threads that may incite passions. I just don't have the time or the energy to do any tit for tats anymore. With work mounting for me here. Just want to have occasional exchanges here and there with like minded individuals.

Anyways, are you done with your new years vacation? or are you back to school already? lol.

I hope you ate enough, bro ! If i was home, i'd have gained 10 lbs by now. LOL!!!

Carrot...Carrot, beef, beef tendon, pork balls inside. Meat was cooked in pressure cooker for hours and then add some spice and green onion.
Well that was actually too normal for me, not so excited as last year's big family gathering which we would prepare for days. In winter, we quite often have this sort of home-made hot pots.:-)

Right! But my dad was supposed to buy some sweet tea which in Chinese medicine sweep off FIRE which comes from spicy hot pot. We always have them especially when having Sichuanese hot pot outside.

But basically this meal could hardly be reckoned as New Year Eve's meal. I would be very embarrassed if my friends saw what I was having for such an important occasion.

it's OK, buddy! it's always nice to see your own pictures here! :agree:
btw, do you make dumplings in Hubei on New Year's Eve? Cantonese don't do that, i'm a little confused now.

Traditionally we don't. But there are a lot of immigrants from northern China here in Wuhan. Making dumplings is easy, but making the dumpling wrapper is what we in the south can never handle well. That's way wrapper is sold in the market
