It cannot be from a serious source. For years I enjoy The Onion in print and now online. It is a hilarious spoof of 'news'. This must be from something similar.
I respect that your beliefs are different than mine
This is as much a matter of belief as the notion that the earth goes round the sun. The scientific method consists of looking at the data and applying the Occam's razor principle.
And I hope you know the drawbacks of Occam's razor principle.
It is impossible to do science without Occam's razor.
I don't get it. How does Occam's razor prove reincarnation?
It's a general principle of how one builds models of the world around us. For example, we don't have any absolute proof that the earth goes around the sun in an elliptical orbit. It's just the simplest model that fits the data reasonably well.
That's a lie. In a different coordinate system I can say the Sun goes around the earth and it's just as valid. A coordinate system with earth as the center is in fact used for satellite launches all the time. One centered on the sun would be a nightmare for the purposes of satellite launches.

that's not what occams razor implies
If you like you can give your view of what Occam's razor means.
To get back to the original point - reincarnation should be treated with the same scientific method that underlies other model-building efforts.
If I believe reincarnation, it makes me cowardly and lazy.
I would imagine a better life in the future, not work hard in today.
I do not like that.
