BEIJING: The EXIM Bank of China has offered to finance the Karachi-Faisalabad-Gwadar Motorway and will soon send a team of experts to Pakistan for a feasibility study of the proposed project.

This offer was made during a meeting between Chairman EXIM Bank Li Ruogu and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani here Thursday. The prime minister said that the financing of the Karachi-Faisalabad-Gwadar Motorway project by the EXIM Bank would be another shining example of the deep-rooted Pak-China friendship and cooperation.

Prime Minister Gilani appreciated the financial contribution of the EXIM Bank in major communication, energy and other projects in Pakistan like the Karakoram Highway, Chashma Nuclear Power Project and Saindak copper and gold mines.

Yeah it will be based on a loan as well as self equity.

Some part of the project finance would be from the contractors themselves and some would be coming from the Chinese bank.

We are already constructing a 4 lane express way from Gawadar to Larkan named as M-8.but I think this one will connet our M-4 motorway faisalabad to multan with Gawadar nd will pass from rajanpur ,Sui and Kohlu.it will certainly reduce the distance and will connect the areas never connected before.

chinese bank will finance it on the condition that a chinese company will build this road..
this way chinese finance money will remain with chinese people...
but pakistan will get a new road..
and people will cameup to say a win-win situation..

pakistan btw will be returning this loan by either collecting the tool tax by itself or more conviently just giving a tool tax collection contrect to chinese for next 40-50 years..

chinese bank will finance for M 8 Gwadar which will connect Ratodero sindh . initially its going to be 2 lanes will be 2 lane will be added later.
