RESULTS: Compared with body fat percentage (BF%) obtained using the reference method, BF% for the Singaporean Chinese, Malays and Indians were under-predicted by BMI, sex and age when an equation developed in a Caucasian population was used. What are the 2% of cities with population over 500,000 that won’t get HSR? Are they mostly border regions and cities furthest away like Kashgar.

seems almost a shame to not go for 100% when it’s so close. Perhaps 98% by 2025 and the rest a few years after that. HSR to Hotan AFB would be really good for logistics and quicker logistics to and from neighboring countries in Central and South Asia.

Unlike traditional rail, HSR mostly run in straight lines with very gentle turns and bends. When you encounter mountains, you better tunnel through them instead of building roads that wind up or down. Building tunnels is very expensive.

There is a HSR line to Urumqi. Extending the line to Kashgar and then Hotan would require tunneling and/or scaling mountains, but it’s not something the Chengdu-Tibet HSR railway wouldn’t encounter. Perhaps it’s about the ROI on building a line out to there considering the Urumqi line cost so much with little return on investment, and the extension to Kashgar would be even more cost for even less return. That’s just my guess.

But is it the real reason, which is why I ask what’s with the remaining 2% Is it cost or something else?
