Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said Thursday New Zealand's spy agency will have the final say on whether to let Huawei Technologies build fifth-generation infrastructure in the country and that the government will not be swayed by the U.S. and Australia, stating, "We are very clear that it's not a political decision."

Five months after the Trump administration blacklisted China’s Huawei Technologies Co., its business seems alive and well while American firms still don’t know whether they can work with the Chinese company.

Despite those actions, Huawei reported last week that its revenue grew 24% in the first ninth months of 2019, boosted by a 26% jump in smartphone shipments. There are also signs that U.S. efforts to block the company from the development of 5G technology have yet to make a big dent: Huawei said it has signed more than 60 5G commercial contracts to date worldwide.

Chancellor Merkel also personally made sure of it that Germany would be allowing Huawei's 5G tech to be deployed in Germany ignoring the threats from America. China is the biggest car market for Mercedes, BMW, Audi and VW and other industry giant such as Siemens. There is going to be a big consequence for these companies if she would join Canada and Australia. This is a very welcoming and smart policy for Germany's economy.

Huawei is rebuilding supply chain in China, tech staffs from huawei are working with components suppliers.

Thank you Trump, thank you!

you were not talking about china, you were talking about huawei
Difference without distinction and everyone knows that by now. China is Huawei and vice versa. No one can ban any company from doing business. All the US did was forbid Huawei from accessing one part of US technology. China can create her own version of android and force every Chinese company to use it.

to quote the article I linked
"For years, congressional committees, the FBI, the National Security Agency, and others have flagged close ties between Huawei and the Chinese Communist Party, and the US even banned the company from bidding on government contracts."

Yeah...From doing business in the US. The thread's title mentions the globe imply the US tried to ban Huawei as a company.

Give up in trying to portray Huawei as an innocent victim. Tech savvy individuals and companies -- who were not sucked in by Chinese money -- knows better.

US Government banned Huawei from the US 5G network business in the US and is trying to get US allies to do the same with limited success. The article presents 5G network contracts data and points out that Huawei is the leader in global 5G network contract.

I'm not portraying huawei as anything. It is you who are portraying huawei "as China" and incorrectly stated that "No one can ban any company from doing business". Good day.
