China’s top-level push to nurture semiconductor champions as it reels from an unfolding tech war with the U.S. has not gone to plan.

The giant cash splash has been diluted among thousands of small companies without the talent or know-how to compete with global giants, according to Wang Lin, a partner at venture investment firm Walden International Inc.

Walden is some no name shrimp company that's invested only 1.6 billion total, which is nothing compared to a single month of Huawei revenue. If they knew what they were doing they wouldn't be a tiny shrimp.

Have to spend money to make money. If you don't go for the high end you'll end up like Vietnam. Vietnamese are well known to be extremely stingy penny pinchers that try to trick you for a few dimes and can't see the big picture.

Vietnam Doi Moi has been 34 years already. What are their accomplishments? Far poorer than China at the same stage of development while everyone's brainwashed by Trump and Facebook. Stuck in the low income trap, still assembling after 34 years and looks like China in 1990's. China after 34 years of reform was 2013. Already Huawei, SMIC, Tencent, Baidu and Alibaba were competing at the highest levels.
