SpaceX has already surpassed China in rocket technology and human to LEO capability. SpaceX is a 20 year old company.

Isn't it the best in US which was built based on all US past experience and achievements? did the west ever sanction SpaceX?

Yeah but who did the West and the Russians ask for help..Martians?

No, it was a Billions of trial and error R&D money year after year after year that could have been used elsewhere. There was nobody to turn to for guidance or shortcuts.

Plus SpaceX was ostracized in the beginning. These big defense companies were making lots of money per launch and having some upstart cut into their bottom line didn't make them happy..so they weren't giving out much free help.

It was only the whole alternative to using the Russian RD-180 engine thing after the 2014 Crimea annexation that got SpaceX noticed.
