Are you sure india is developing their own navigation system?For now,im just know that China,Russia and Europe are developing them.

they have "plans" for a local nav system covering india and its immediate neighborhood

Must be a good news for the GPS makers... Russia, India and China announcing their own satellites navigation systems.

The developers of Beidou-II have said that the system is not profitable because of the entrenched commercial acceptance of GPS. Galileo also looks like it will be a black hole for money when it's ready because of GPS longtime market dominance and ubiquitous worldwide use for the past 20 years. China will have to subsidize it until they can get enough receivers in the field. I know China is beginning to supply its coast guard and other national agencies with it. However, in the public domain, it has a long way to go because of its much greater cost and bulkier receivers.

India and Japan are developing their own regional satellite navigation systems. South Korea is also investigating their own project but they have not officially announced it yet like Japan and India have.
