You cannot fight these fanatic people. Best is to keep a low profile and not to attract attention from them. Let US draw their attention.

China should focus on the root cause. First understand the problem.
Poverty and illiteracy is the root cause. This leads to religious extremism. These are the main contributors not Uighur nationalism.
The best weapons against these people is development.This will draw people away from religious extremism.

It will never bite China in the ***. At least, not in any meaningful way that would actually pose a threat to China's existence. 1.3 billion Han Chinese in charge of the Army, Police, and Intelligence agencies > 10 million Uighurs. And only a handful of those Uighurs are actual terrorists. Sorry, your Turkish brothers will never have independence. Most are only too happy to join mainstream Chinese society and the rest will be left with the choice of assimilating or fading into an irrelevant footnote in some obscure history book. i almost missed him posting negative China news on a regular basis for a while.
