there have been many surveys for many power projects. this will be another one. only if wapda pays bills to the private and semi private power cpmpanies sl that they can buy oil for their generators. much of the power sjlrtage will be dealt with.
its not lack of resources that we are facing such acute power shortage. its pure mismanagement.
mind you mismanagement is as bad and as damaging as femine and war.

You are right but complete chain is, WAPDA itself has to receive unbilled amounts from distribution companies and customers.
We as a nation want everything free or cheap.33% of all electricity users dont pay bills or stealing elecricity.Look in KPK half of the province does not pay bill,all the tribal areas,one third of Karachi and less in remaining country dont pay bills.
If all of us accept paying bill as national and religious responsibility then I can assure you we do not need aid for buliding dams and power plants.We will do at our own resources.

we have huge number of glaciers in our north part and one of the biggest glaciers in world out side polar region we do have only 5 rivers from which on 4 rivers you people are making dams and stopping our water but we also have number of rivers running along valleys in gilgit baltistan which falls into indus river

Great idea, super proposal -- and it just won't happen --- for reasons why please refer to the beginning of the sentence

Seriously, like someone already mentioned, as soon as the govt agrees to this - politicians, bureaucrats, Mujahideen, environmentalists, Mullahs and all variety of "stake holders" will appear, the price of the land will sky rocket, and everybody else will have ot be paid off -- the politicians will want contracts for their "firengi" friends, the domestic companies, will charge even more than the firengi companies and the Chinese will learn things about Pakistan that no Chinese should want to know about anywhere -- China promised to never, never give Pakistan Aid - help Pakistan, but make the idea Pakistani or every Pakistani will be ready to have his and her account and their foreign account as well, filled to the limit with the largess of the hard working and money saving Chinese.

So Chinese friends should not take offense, we know they only wanted to help - but Pakistan does not work like a normal country, it has it's own "unique" method of functioning.
