Looking at the border issues, I honestly don't know how it could be solved. And as time passes by, I see it being harder.
Maybe India could stop claim on Aksai Chin, China stop claim on Arunachal Pradesh, and split Kashmir. I see this as the most sensible way to end border disputes. If there is no compromise, then force will the compromise.
China have border issues with 10+ countries and that doesn't necessarily make them enemies. As a matter of fact, around 1962, China proposed to keep Aksai Chin (It is of zero use to India anyway but important to China) and in exchange, have India keep AP even China never felt that line is fair. Relationship between China and India went sour after Nehru met Dalai Lama in June,1959 and let CIA base in India to operate against China. Needless to his arrogant forward policy was the final nail.
It is 50 years since the war, India and China can both benefit with better ralationship. On one hand I have high hope for this since personal relationships among Chinese and Indians overseas are very warm. On the otherhand, unless Indian Media stop to sensationalize every small incident between the two countries so that most Indians still believe this "China betrayed India" thing instead of looking into 3rd party sources, India government has to bend under public pressure and it is almost impossible for both countries to move on. After all, how can you have good relationship with a country who "will attack india every two years." Even among educated Indians, a lot of them believed in silly stories like "India handed the UNSC seat to China as a friendly gesture". My India colleague was shocked when I told him China was not in UN until 1971.
For the memoment, more people exchange is probably the best thing can be done.
China is trying to pick fight and India has avoided it, our men are going in to know what they need to know.
I do not like Chinese.
they are rats in rabbit clothing.
