This could be a world record!
China has one of the most advanced shipbuilding industry in the world. Also It seems they will be the best in a short time. What I mean is not just the annual steel processing capacity. The progress they have made in the sub-industry and naval engineering areas in the last 30 years should be taken as a role model.
To be fair, taiwan is still officially recognised(even by Taiwan itself) as Republic of China(ROC). The KMT who has ruled Taiwan for most of the past decades until recently, still considers Taiwan part of China but under their rule, not CCP. In short, they want to be the ruling party. However, funny enough, that would have been good for them back in the days, since KMT(like CCP) was also a dictatorial party who had sole authority/power back then, but now the world has changed alot(so has the KMT had to change), as there is now more freedom for people to criticise people in power/protest or even demand a leaders resignation and other political parties contest for power and opposition is tolerated/allowed. So KMT doesn't have the absolute power it once had, reason DPP won elections and took power in Taiwan quite a few times, and also the reason a peaceful unification with China(UNDER CCP) is getting more and more unlikely with each passing day, since more Taiwanese youths get used to their current freedoms the more those who opposed unification will have a bigger say, as most of these youths who were born in the 90s/2000s don't have any affiliations with the mainland(unlike their fathers generations who migrated/fled from there) and are used to their current system. So reason even some people in KMT are starting to question or be against KMT policy of ONE China, since they know that even if they united with the mainland again and let's imagine(though its almost impossible) that this unification was done under KMT leadership/rule over all China, then KMT wouldn't be guaranteed to remain power anyway(unlike before when the world and people didn't really care about a one party dictatorship) since there will be other opposition parties who can contest and win elections and take power from the KMT like DPP did in Taiwan. So i think even party leaders don't see the importance(It doesnt serve their interests anymore. lol ) of uniting with mainland anymore, compared to before when they knew that if they took power and ruled all of China like the did before and after WWII then they could rule unchallenged over China. Nowadays that's not the case anymore. since they would have to face competition from other parties even if they were to rule China. So the stakes aren't the same anymore. lolThey aren't part of PRC. They have no commke heritage. And the island was part of only the Qing and the current "ROC". No other dynasty. Mongolia was once part of Qing. Not anymore. Outer manchuria was once paft of Qing. Bjt no more, it belongs to Russia now.
